At the end of 2016, the city government's "Xinsheng Green River Waterfront Corridor Project" demolished the open space in the square above the Green River, and the relocated workers gathered around the entrance and exit corridors of ASEAN Square. workers, and put up signs on the walls prohibiting sitting on the floor requiring clear corridors.

After the renovation of the ghost mannequin effect service Green River in 2018, the original square was no longer vacant, and the artificial landscape, planting and lighting attracted batches of tourists.
